Philanthropy Week in the Lowcountry 2009 is the fourth annual celebration in coastal SC celebrating National Philanthropy Day through a week-long series of events. Philanthropy Week in the Lowcountry recognizes the significant contributions of philanthropy to enrich our local and global communities.       

Lowcountry nonprofit leaders and organizations have joined forces to promote philanthropy and community giving November 9th-13th.  The week-long celebration includes panel discussions, educational workshops, and grant award ceremonies recognizing nonprofit agencies, donors, and volunteers for their extraordinary work in our commnuities.  See the calendar for the week’s events.

Through this collaborative effort, the groups and leaders are aiming to highlight and strengthen the importance of philanthropy to our community’s economy and overall quality of life. The week’s events are intended to broaden our community’s understanding of how philanthropy can provide solutions for our community ills as well as enhance our way of life in the Lowcountry.
Philanthropy Week is coordinated by the following nonprofit organizations: Center for Women, Coastal Community Foundation, Lowcountry Chapter of Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP), Women Making a Difference, and the Junior League.
